Reading is not the same as learning.
This is uncomfortable, because reading feels like studying. You sit down, open the book and move through the material. But movement through pages is not the same as movement in understanding.
Familiarity can fool you
When you reread text, it becomes familiar. Familiar material feels easier, but that does not mean you can use it in an exam.
The real test is simple: can you explain it without looking?
Learning needs retrieval
Retrieval means pulling information from memory. This strengthens learning far more than passive rereading.
After reading a section, close the material and write what you remember. Then check what was missing.
Learning also needs feedback
If you do not check your answer, mistakes can stay hidden. Feedback shows what is correct, what is vague and what needs more practice.
How APUOPE helps
APUOPE turns uploaded material into active practice. Instead of only reading, students answer, recall, explain and improve.
Summary
Reading is useful, but it is not enough. Learning begins when you test what your brain can do without the material in front of you.
